Think about where your money goes

Alumni donations are our leverage. We encourage you to:

  • Pause all giving until Cornell restores academic freedom, defends its historic commitment to diversity, and holds leadership accountable, for the harmful settlement they made with the Trump administration--and its consequences.

  • If you give, restrict your gift to a specific program you trust. This will prevent your funds from being used for initiatives that negatively affect academic freedom, data privacy, and equity. ....Don't give to "annual funds"; these are what the university craves most since Cornell's administration can use them for their own priorities, and lately the administration has indicated that its priorities don't align with that of alumni, students, or faculty.

  • If Cornell is in your will, consult your attorney about updating your estate planning, and let Cornell know that you're withdrawing from the "Cayuga Society," if you've been a member.

We'd love to hear from you!

We're collecting testimonials from those who are choosing not to donate, or are donating only in a restricted manner. Let us know if you're among them! We can keep your identity anonymous.

Send us a note at connect@cornellcourage.com, and share, if you're willing, something like:

  • I am not donating this year because……………………….

  • I am donating to _____ this year because…………………
